Aims:
  • The aim of this module is to equip all medical staff in Devon Partnership Trust to be able to prevent and control the spread of infection in the workplace. All medical staff should complete this module and the 'Infection Prevention and Control Level 1'
  • Anticipated Learning Outcomes:
  • By the end of the module learners will be able to
  • Describe the importance of infection Control and role modelling for medical staff
  • Describe when hand hygiene is particularly important in their role
  • Describe safe practice during venepuncture
  • Describe infection control considerations for specific named infections
  • Describe and understand the importance of prudent antibiotic prescribing.
